Confieso que he pecado...

Pues sí, lo confieso, he pecado. Os cuento…esta mañana recibí mis agujas circulares y directamente un pensamiento ocupó mi mente el resto del día: ROWAN CORNER en El Corte Inglés. Me enteré de su existencia por Ravelry ya que sólo fui una vez a la sección de lanas en ECI y como no me gustó, no volví nunca más. Bueno, pues he de decir que sí, que está bien pero tampoco me puse a dar saltos de alegría al verla…es pequeñita y los precios son, en general, para que se te salgan los ojos de las órbitas…pero aun así, estuve allí una horita sentada con Ana, la chica del stand, casi convencida de apuntarme a sus clases de calceta y buscando patrones apetecibles en las revistas de Rowan.

Afortunadamente para mi bolsillo, en el último minuto me arrepentí y compré sólo lo que iba a comprar: unos ovillos para hacerme un cuello y una boina. Tres ovillos de Rowan cocoon (80% merino 20% kid mohair) en un color verde precioso. Ahora a ver si no lo estropeo con mi poca experiencia!

Estoy ansiosa por montar los puntos en mis nuevas circulares que, por cierto, me dijeron que eran una porquería (en ECI) y me pusieron cara de “qué pide esta lela” cuando pedí, en caja, unos marcadores para los puntos; me daban un rotulador marcador! jejeje, seguiré con los que me hice yo misma: unos lacitos con lana de otro color

De todos modos, tengo que reconocer que salí por la puerta de ECI con unos remordimientos horribles y con nada de alegría después de gastar ese dinero. Ahora me encuentro más animada y espero que cuando lo luzca en mi cuello y cabeza, me sienta mucho mejor!

Yep, I confess, I’ve sinned. Let me tell you…this morning I’ve received my circular needles and a single thought filled my mind for the day: ROWAN CORNER, in El Corte Inglés. I knew about its existence by ravelry because I only went once to the yarn section in ECI and as I didn’t like it, I never went back. Well, I dare say that yes, it’s ok but I didn’t jump with joy being there…it’s tiny and the prices are, in general, huge…but even so, I spent an hour sitting there with Ana, the shop assistant, almost convinced of sing up for her knitting lessons and looking for patterns in the Rowan magazines.

Fortunately for my pocket, in the last minute I changed my mind and bought only what I was going to buy: some skeins to make a cowl and a beret. Three balls of Rowan cocoon (80% merino wool, 20% kid mohair) in beautiful green. Now, I hope not to make a mess with it because of my lack of experience!

I’m anxious to cast on the stitches in my new circulars, which I was told that they are a shit (in ECI) and also, they looked at me with a strange face when I asked for some stitch markers (they gave me a marker for paper instead! they didn’t know a hint about stitch markers!!)hehehe, I’ll go on with mines, handmade by me with yarn of a different colour.

Anyway, I must admit that I went out the ECI with a horrible remorse and no joy after spending that money. Now, I’m ok and hope to feel much better when I can wear my nice cowl and beret!!
